Edward Jawon Givens, affectionately known as "Ed" departed this life on January 12, 2026. Ed was born June 29, 1993, to the late Edward Givens, and Alicia Coleman. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Lolitha Givens, maternal grandfather George Coleman and his uncle Gregory Coleman.

He attended Caroline County Public Schools in Milford, Virginia. Ed obtained employment with several employers over the years. Ed accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and recommitted to Jerusalem Baptist Church in September 2025.

As a child growing up on 721, he loved entertaining his family with his rap skills and spending countless hours playing football with his friends and cousins. Those moments captured his joy, creativity, and the deep connections he shared with the people he loved. Ed was a jack of all trades. Whatever he put his hands to was done with great skill and passion. He was known as the family cook when the family gathered. His meals were always seasoned to perfection. All enjoyed his style of cooking. Ed could build and repair anything without needing instructions. Whether putting together furniture, or repairing a car, he always knew how to get the job done.

On May 14, 2023, Ed and his devoted girlfriend, Jasmine Chapman welcomed a handsome son, Karter James Givens. Karter and Ed were attached at the hip. Ed loved being a father and took pride in Karter's many milestones.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted mother Alicia Coleman ( J.C.); his son, Karter Givens, four siblings, Delontae, Shanequae, JaQuandre Coleman, and Christopher Wilson; maternal grandmother, Ruth Coleman; two nephews; two uncles, Anthony Givens and Anthony Coleman (Tracy); aunt Tammi, devoted cousin, Cedric McManus; loving girlfriend, Jasmine Chapman; and a host of great aunts, uncles, close family and friends.
