Obituary

Dorothy Mae Rollins, affectionately known as "Poochie" departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her home in Bowling Green, Virginia. She was the youngest child of the late Curly and Martha Rollins.

Poochie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Milford, Virginia. She later moved her membership to St. James Baptist Church in Milford under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Charles F. Baugham.

Poochie was preceded in death by her parents, Curly and Martha Rollins; four brothers, Junior, Earl, Charles and Raymond Rollins and her beloved nephew, Harold "Jake" George.

She leaves to cherish her memory her only devoted child, Alexcia Le'Tia Rollins, three beautiful grandchildren, Nakiyah D. Rollins, Steve Tre' Turner, III, Dakarai A. Turner, all of Stafford, Virginia; one son-in-law, Steve Turner, Jr., two sisters, Charlotte Childs and her husband, Roosevelt of Milford, Virginia, Clara George of Bowling Green; one brother, Tommy Rollins and his wife Marie of Boston, MA.; one devoted niece Cindy Graham of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a devoted friend and housemate, Rosalind Carter of Bowling Green, Virginia and devoted friend Julia Monroe of Milford, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 7, from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at St. James Baptist Church, 19514 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia 22514. Rev. Dr. Charles F. Baugham, Pastor, will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Mt. Lawn Cemetery, Woodford, Virginia.
