Obituary

Dorothy Lee Kay Khalwadekar, (Doffy) was born July 23, 1963 to Daniel Smith and Junita Kay Robinson.

Dorothy attended public school in Caroline County. She enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family bringing joy and laughter to all she met. Dorothy was always ready to put on some good music, cook great food and throw something in the grill to have a good time. Dorothy had a passion for doing things for other people and would help any and everyone. Dorothy loved taking care of others, especially children, she became "grandma" to every child she met.

Dorothy could do any and everything, or so she thought. She could often be found trotting alongside Phil, fixing the cars, installing windows, telling him how it should be done.

She was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Kay; sister Lisa Kay and uncles, Bobby Kay and Richard Kay.

Her memories will be cherished by her loving and devoted friend  Phillip Shepherd; daughter, Jessica Lam (Terry Sheets); granddaughter, Ivy Sheets; father, Daniel Smith; mother, Juanita Kay Robinson; stepfather, Walter Robinson; brothers, Michael Kay (Rhea), David Kay (Regina) and John Kay, Jr; aunts, Joyce Brown, Gloria Johnson; uncles, Calvin Kay (Cheryl), Charles Kay, Jesse Kay (Trudy), Ralph Kay,  George Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Edmund Johnson, Timmy Johnson and Elijah Johnson; a host of other family and friends that are loved and not forgotten , but many to name.  She shared special affection for her nieces; Alicia Kay, and Latesha Kay and her nephew; Alex Kay as well as her great niece Paris.
