Dorothy Marie Smith, 62, of Ruther Glen, VA died on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA.

She is survived by her husband, Harold J. Smith, Jr., three daughters, Sonya Y. Chatman, Melva Y. Jeter-Jackson, and Shakina L. Smith; one son, Arthur Jermaine Jeter; eight grandchildren; one sister, Gloria M. Beasley; two sons-in-law, Keith Chatman and Harold A. Jackson; one aunt and one uncle; five brothers-in-law; one mother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2009, from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 P.M. at C. W. Edwards
Funeral Home, Bowling Green and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Jerusalem Baptist Church, 21180 Bagby Road, Sparta, VA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
