Dorothy "Toot" Freeman Harmon, formerly of Caroline County, departed this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2008, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Springs, Maryland.
Dorothy was born on January 17, 1938, in Balty, and was the daughter of Lloyd and the late Virginia Freeman. Dorothy loved the Lord and had a strong Christian upbringing with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Lloyd Freeman; four brothers, Raymond Freeman of Doswell, Robert Freeman of Texas, Thomas Freeman of Ruther Glen, and Bernard Freeman and his wife, Faye, of Ruther Glen; three sisters, Myrtle Fortune and her husband, Lucious, of Ruther Glen, Delores Freeman of Washington, D.C., and Gloria Freeman of Ruther Glen; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green, and one hour before service at the church on Thursday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at St. John Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. W. G. Berryman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
