Dorothy Pearl Forune went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2020 at the home of her devoted daughter Victoria "Vicky" Fortune (Mark) in Ruther Glen, Virginia. She was born on August 17, 1933 in Caroline County, Virginia to the late James Howard and Estelle Howard Holmes. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Dorothy received her formal education in the Caroline County Public Schools. She was employed by Quality Inn Hotel in Triangle, Virginia as a desk clerk for many years.

Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to Clarence "Sac" Fortune on March 28, 1953 to this union  was born a daughter, Victoria and a son Jeffrey.

Dorothy was a loving, gentle, kind and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her life was enriched by frequent visits from her grandson, great grandchildren, sister and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; David and Richard Howard.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Victoria and her husband Mark Sabourin who loved and cherished her very much and her  son, Jeffrey Fortune;  grandson; Pruett Hutsell; great grandchildren, Memphis, Kinsley and Jordan Hutsell; devoted sister, Lucille Coleman; niece, Deborah Brown Rupp (Ingo); great niece, Miranda Rupp, great nephew, Cameron Rupp and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Woodford, Virginia.
