Doris A. Woolfolk,73, transitioned this earthly life to be eternally present with the Lord on Wednesday, February, 2016 while surrounded by her three loving children.

Doris was born on October 29, 1942 to Mary E. Keys and Allen R. Brown. She was the only girl out of six children. Her five brothers Joseph Leon, Allen Lee, Harold Justin and Andrew Brown and adopted brother Bernard Lee preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter Flora Ann.

Doris accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Beulah Baptist Church, Woodford, Virginia. During her adult life she joined the St. John Baptist Church, Milford, Virginia on Christian Experience. Doris received her education in the Caroline County public school system. Doris worked in the food industry for many years until she retired in 1981. During her tenure she received many awards and was recognized in 1977 on the all American team by Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald's.

Doris loved listening to music, dancing, spending quality time with family and friends, nurturing and taking care of everyone, but most of all she enjoyed her life to the fullest.

Doris was married to the late Joseph L. Woolfolk, Sr. and from this union four children were born. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; a loving and devoted daughter, Larkie W. Smith of Richmond, Virginia; two sons; Joseph Linton Woolfolk and Benjamin Leon Woolfolk both of Woodford, Virginia; five granddaughters, Quiana Shanta' Woolfolk whom she raised as her very own and held a very special place in her heart, Shane Evette White, Nakia Martise Ward, Tameika Rochelle Woolfolk and Kanessa Ann Woolfolk; two grandsons, Airman 1st Class D'Marcus Fitzgerald Fortune (Carlyn) and Isaiah Daniel Smith; five great-grandchildren; Mckenzie Smith, Da'Shawn Malique Brown, Ta'Quavious Rey Woolfolk, two of whom held a very special place in her heart, Demetric Fields (Nunie) and Tyris Wilson, Jr. ; who she called her "Banner Rooster"; four sister-in-laws, Ophelia Scott, Dorothy Brown, Inez Woolfolk and Martina Jones (Gerald); two brother-in laws; Andrew Woolfolk (Gwen) and Elmer Johnson; one aunt, Earnestine Graham of Richmond, Virginia; one very special niece Lola Brown and one very special nephew, Dante Brown whom she helped raised; two very dear friends, Milton Banks and Esther Henson; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home 16476 Richmond Turnpike Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 on Friday, February 12, from noon to 8 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church.

A celebration of life will be held noon, Saturday, February 13 at St.
John Baptist Church, 17080 South River Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580

Interment will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery Cedon Road, Woodford,Virginia.
