On Thursday, December 17, 2020, the hand of the almighty God called Donzell McKinley Myers into eternal rest. He was born on September 22, 1966 to Geraldine Johnson Myers and the late Henry Lee Myers Sr. He was one of five children and was affectionately known as" Zeke" to many.
Donzell grew up and attended public school in Caroline County, Virginia. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Virginia, but also attended Saint James Baptist Church in Milford, Virginia. He worked a short while at Fort A.P Hill Army Base in Bowling Green, Virginia then decided to change paths and work for himself as a barber. He enjoyed cutting hair and had many devoted customers who he enjoyed laughing and joking with until his health began to decline.
Donzell battled with health problems for many years but continued to press on and never complained. When he was feeling well, he enjoyed fishing and watching his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles beat up on his sister's favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Another thing he enjoyed was eating good food.
Donzell was a devoted and loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lee Myers Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted companion of 32 years; Lolita Moore of Bowling Green, Virginia. sons; Denzell Moore and Ronnell Moore, both of Bowling Green, Virginia. mother, Geraldine Myers of Bowling Green, Virginia. siblings; Shirley A. Myers of Accokeek, Maryland, Henry L. Myers Jr. of King and Queen, Virginia; Letisha Brown of Milford, Virginia, and Oris E. Brown of Charlotte Hall, Maryland. nephews; John R. Brown Jr., Jonathan Brown, both of Bowling Green, Virginia and Jiuhur Myers of Ruther Glen, Virginia. one niece; Tiffany Brown of Bowling Green, Virginia; aunt, Vivian Latney of Bowling Green, Virginia, two great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 25, 2020 at C.W.Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the above funeral home with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Wrightsville Road, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.
