Derek Justin Lewis, affectionally known as "DJ" departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

DJ was preceded in death by his grandfathers;, Willie Waller, Jr.  and Phillip (Skeeter) Lewis and his grandmother, Annie Banks Lewis.

DJ attended Spotsylvania High School. He loved fishing, hunting, and tinkering with cars. He also had a passion for four wheelers. DJ loved his family and being with his friends. DJ was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan. He also had a willing spirit and giving personality to everyone he met.

DJ was previously employed at Car Expo and Costco for a number of years. He was currently employed  with A.C. Lawn Service.

He leaves cherished memories to his loving and devoted parents, Maurice and Lillian Lewis, Spotsylvania, Virginia, his devoted brother, Charles Lewis Jr. (Angie), loving sister, Ariel Lewis all of Spotsylvania, Virginia; dedicated grandmother, Shirley Waller of Ruther Glen, Virginia, one nephew, Charles Lewis, III and one niece, Iyana Lewis; several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and devoted friends that will miss him dearly.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Caroline Community Center, 1702 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Lewis Family Cemetery, Blanton Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia 22551.
