David Omar Christopher Jones, 16, of Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Fredericksburg, VA.

David was born January 4, 1995 to Emmanuel Archer and Teresa A. Jones at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.

David accepted Christ at an early age and he fellowshiped at St. Paul Community Baptist Church in Brooklyn, N.Y. where he was a member. David was very active in the youth programs of the church. David was also one of the first members of Chionesu Bakari a mentoring proram for young men for the ages of 10 to 18 years old. Chionesu Bakari means "Guiding Light of Noble Promise". The program was started in 2006 by Mr. Horace Moore, Founder and Executive Director.

David was affectionately known as "Brooklyn" by his friends because of where he was from, "Brooklyn, New York".

David had a great passion for basketball. David began playing basketball at an early age in Brooklyn. He played for the Nazareth Regional High School in Brooklyn. When David moved to Virginia to live with his grandparents he began playing for the Caroline Cavaliers Junior Varsity and he also ran track. David also played for the Caroline County Ballers an AAU basketball team. David's favorite N.B.A. team was the Miami Heat and his favorite N.B.A. player was Dwayne Wade. David also had a love for music and he had a great sense of humor.

David leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Emmanuel Archer of Newark, New Jersey and Teresa A. Jones of Brooklyn, New York; step parents, Mrs. Euphrosine Archer and Mr. Mark Ford; grandparents, Alex and Doris Jones of Bowling Green, Va., and Elena Ford of Queens, N.Y., three siblings, Tyla Ford, Taj Ford and Phillip Archer, two aunts, Lisa Carter and Erica Ford, one niece, Rachael Archer, and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 17th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caroline County Community Services Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia 22514.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home.

A visitation is also scheduled for David at St. Paul Community Baptist Church, 859 Hendrix Street, Brooklyn, N.Y., 11207, on Friday, June 24th, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service begining at 7:00 p.m.
