Obituary

Clyde Edward Lindsey, Sr. was born in Caroline County, Virginia, on May 14, 1940, to the late Charlie and Mary Lindsey. He received his wings on September 17, 2020.

Clyde accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Caroline County Public schools n Caroline County. Soon after, a life of work began. Clyde worked at DA Foster in Fairfax, Virginia and he worked at Caroline Public Schools until retirement.

Over the years, he met his best friend and future wife, the late Barbara Jean Lindsey. Clyde was a humble family man. He was quiet and easy-going and didn't mind lending a helping hand. Clyde was from a large family some of whom preceded him in death, including a son and seven siblings.

Clyde married the late Barbara Jean Lindsey and to this union, five children were born: Alonzo Lindsey, who preceded him in death, Alvin Lindsey (Joanne) of Center Cross, Virginia, Chekeela Johnson (Jeffrey) of Champlain, Virginia, Vaulrie Green (Donell) of Champlain, Virginia, and Clyde Lindsey, Jr. (Contessa) of Richmond, Virginia.

Clyde leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of twenty-six years, Cynthia Lindsey; a daughter, Kelonda Lindsey; five grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Donell Green, Jr., Ashlee Lindsey, Aleesha Lindsey, Kendra Green and Joseph Lindsey; four sisters: Thelma Neal (William) of Capital Heights, Maryland, Ethel Easley of Bowie, Maryland, Ruby Thornton (Arthur), and Dorothy Peay; five brothers: Russell Lindsey (Reacie) of Washington, D.C.,  Richard Lindsey (Geraldine) of Glen Allen, Virginia, James Lindsey (Ann) of Bowling Green,
Virginia, Donald Lindsey of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Franklin Johnson (Alice); and many other relatives and friends.

Clyde was well-loved and enjoyed a full life of love and laughter. He's probably looking around now and saying, "don't cry for me, I'm alright!
