Clinton Bernard Fletcher, Sr. was the fourth child of late Susie Anna Washington-Fletcher and Benjamin Antonio Fletcher. He was born on December 27, 1935, in Spotsylvania, Virginia. He departed this life on September 29, 2017, at the home of his son, Clinton Bernard Fletcher, Jr. in Milford, Virginia.

His education was received through the public schools of Spotsylvania County where he graduated from John J. Wright High School. After graduation, he went to Atlantic City, New Jersey and worked in the hotel industry for some time. He returned home and was inductd into the armed forces on January 21, 1959. He served as a sharpshooter in the Korean War and ended his military service with the III U. S. Army Corps on January 20, 1965. Clinton, Sr. was employed by and retired from the U. S. Federal Government in Quantico, Virginia. In addition to his job there as an electrician, he worked in the Film Producation Department. He further cultivated his legacy in the following areas: farming, real estate, car sales, home repair and commerce; he was a jack of all trades. He liferally worked everday from sun up to sun down until a few months before his passing.

But by far, the most important thing to him was the spreading of the gospel. No matter what the encounter--business or personal--Clinton Sr. would bring the topic of his Lord Jesus Christ into the conversation! Clinton Sr. revered the Lord. His early upbringing in the church was at Beulah Baptist Church in Woodford, VA. As an adult, he was a diligent deacon and minister at The Church of God of Prophecy in Mayfield, VA. In his latter years, he was pastor of The Church of God in Spotsylvania, VA.

Clinton Bernard Fletcher, Sr. was joined in holy matrimony to Audrey Arlene Williams on May 29, 1962. From this union seven children were born: Theresea Victoria Fletcher, Clinton Bernard Fletcher, Jr. (Kecia) , Daniel Antonio Fletcher, Pamela Virginia Lipkins (Keith), Frances LaVonda Clemmons, Matthew Warren Fletcher, Debbie Myre Fletcher and Warren Adolphus Baker.

Clinton Sr. leaves to cherish his memory, four daughters, Theresea Victoria Fletcher, Debbie Myre Fletcher, Frances LaVonda Clemmons and Pamela Virginia Lipkins; three sons, Clinton B. Fletcher, Jr., Matthew Warren Fletcher and Warren Adolphus Baker; eighteen granddaughters, eleven grandsons, seven great granddaughters and six great-grandsons; two brothers,Benjamin Warren Fletcher (Alice) and Horace A. Lindsey (Cora); one sister, Dori Jean Minor (John); one daughter-in-law, son-in-law and a host of newphews, nieces, cousins, church members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Arlene Williams-Fletcher; a son, Daniel Antonio Fletcher; three brothers and two sisters.

A viewing will held Friday, October 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 7 at Beulah Baptist Church, 5216 Arcadia Road, Woodford, Virginia 22580. Rev. Otis L. Kay, Sr., Pastor of First Mt Zion Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
