Obituary

Clemon B. Ware, 92, of Bowling Green, Virginia departed this life at his residence early Wednesday morning, May 21, 2014.

Clemon was born November 7, 1921 in Caroline County to the late John M. and Hattie G. Ware. He was the oldest Deacon and member of St. Stephens Baptist Church, Central Point, Virginia. He was employed by D. A. Foster Trenching Company, Merrifield, Virginia and retired in 1986 with 29 years of service.

Clemon was predeceased by his daughter, Catherine Diane Hundley in 2013.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-six years, Pauline R. Ware, two sons: David G. (Vernessa) and Al Ware, both of Milford, Virginia; one daughter, Shelia Ware Rollins of Bowling Green, Virginia; four grandchildren: Tia N. Courtney (Eugene) of Ruther Glen, Virginia, Derrick Rollins (Calandra) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, David Ware II of Milford, Virginia and Whitney Ware of Atlanta, Georgia; eight great-grandchildren: Dakari Rollins, MarQuia Courtney, David Earl Ware, Devin Rollins, Davon and Dondre Courtney, Dallas Rollins and Malayla Courtney; five sisters-in-law: Lillia Clarke and Ida Byrd, both of Milford, Virginia, Mary Fraser (James) of Lexington, Massachusetts, Virginia Ali of Washington, D.C. and Lorraine Ware of Hustle, Virginia; two brothers-in-law: Melvin Byrd (Ercell) of Milford, Virginia and Robert Rollins of Chance, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 12:00 Noon to 4:30 P.M. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home at 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia. Family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at St. Stephens Baptist Church, 29436 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014,at 2:30 P. M., at the Caroline County Community Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in St. Stephens Baptist Church (Central Point) Cemetery, Milford, Virginia.
