Clarissa V. Otey, born February 26, 1922, in Caroline County, Viginia, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Bowling Green Health and Rehabilitation Center. After living and working in New York for over 50 years, she retired to Virginia to be closer to her siblings and to return to her ancestral home.

She is survived by two daughters, Margie Powell and her husband, Jimmy and Barbara Quash; one grandson, Darien and his wife Kim; two great grandsons, James and Matthew Quash; one sister, Madge Beverly and her husband, Edward, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Otey and a daughter, Audrey Otey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 23, at noon at Mt. Salem Baptist Church, 16170 Moores Mill Road, Ruther Glen, VA 22546. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
