Clarence Erskin Smith, 63, of Washington, D.C., (formerly of Caroline County), went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Mae Smith; one sister, Mary A. Hillsman; one daughter, Lisa Kay; and one step-brother.

Survivors include his father, Clarence Smith; two daughters, Lisa Waller of Woodford, Virginia and Cheryl Parker of Ashland, Virginia; one son, Clarence E. J. Smith of Millersville, Maryland; two sisters, Brenda Evans (Earl) of Camden, New Jersey and Loria Clipper (Maynard) of Woodford, Virginia; four step-sisters; four step-brothers; two devoted friends, Paul Taylor and Joyce Lee; and a host of other aunts, uncles,nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday June 18, 2010 from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 P.M. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Caroline County Community nity Center, Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
