Obituary

Clarence Eldridge Houchens was born on November 28, 1956 to Warren Houchens and Rosa Houchens Smith He entered into eternal rest at his home on September 15, 2012.


Clarence received his education in the Spotsylvania County Public School system. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Apostolic Church of God and True Holiness in Spotsylvania, Va.

Clarence worked at the Pilot Truck Stop in Ruther Glen, Va. Clarence was also self employed and he owned his own lawn maintenance business.

Clarence was united in Holy Matrimony on May 11, 2004 to Odellsie A. Smith.

Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Warren Houchens and Rosa Smith, his wife, Odellsie A. Smith, two children, Latonya and Courtney; six brothers, Eric (Amy) Houchens, Harvey (Lorraine) Houchens, Rodney (Ericka)Houchens, Warren Houchens, Terry Houchens and Franklin Houchens; three sisters, Susan (Thomas) Fenwick, Rose Mary (Luther) Williams, Martha (Frank) Williams; three step children, Kelvin, Karen, and Nikki; four sisters-in-law, Frances D. ( Roger A) Mickens; three brothers-in-law, Eddie Chastine Smith, Alfred (Arlen) Smith, Roger (Roberteen)Smith; five grandchildren, Alexis, Marquese, Darius, Jacolby, and Winter and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, from noon to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before service on Thursday.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
