Obituary

Charles F. Reynolds, Sr. fondly known to most as " Charlie" was the 15th child born to the late Aubrey and Evelyn (Hopkins) Reynolds, Sr., in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

He attended Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia and at an early age joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Fredericksburg, Virginia under the leadership of Rev. S. H. Carter.

Charlie was employed over the years at D. A. Foster and Clark Construction Companies as a construction worker in the DC Metro area. He later opened his own business doing concrete masonry.

He was married to the late Vernell (Walker) Reynolds in January of 1963. To this union, three children were born, Charles, Jr., Stacy and Vernett.

Charlie was always known to have jokes ready when in the presence of his family or friends. He loved to travel and have a good time. Charlie loved to go out to eat breakfast on the weekends, he loved watching sports on TV and was a avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He even traveled all the way to Dallas to see the new stadium. He will be greatly missd by all of his family and friends.

He leaves to mourn, two sons, Charles, Jr. (Tonette) of Woodford, Virginia, Stacy (Fontella) of Tappahanock, Virginia and one daughter, Vernett (Quan) Hines of Lawrenceville, Georgia; four sisters, Carrie Baker, Mary Graves and Lessie Reynolds all of Woodford, Virginia and Helen Reynolds of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one brother, Aubrey Reynolds, Jr. of Woodford, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Gloria Reynolds; 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a devoted friend, Donna Cole. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 2, from noon to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 3, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4700 Massaponax Church Road, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22408. Interment will follow at Mt. Lawn Cemetery, Woodford, Virginia.
