Charles Allen Calloway, affectionately known as "Low Rider", was born in Danville, VA to the late Malvenia Harris Calloway and the late Charles Samuel Calloway on November 6, 1956, and sadly departed his earthly life at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital on January 20, 2026, after battling a brief illness.

Charles was educated in the Danville Public School System. He was employed as a young man as a truck driver for Bridge Way Trucking Company out of Brown Sumitte, NC and later moved on to drive for various other trucking companies in his career. After driving coast to coast, he became self-employed and began driving for himself. After driving from East to West Coast, he was given the name "Low Rider".

Charles accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of White Oak Grove Baptist Church in Danville, VA.

He enjoyed dressing from head to toe in his stylish Steve Harvey suits, Stacey Adams shoes, and Fedora hats.

Charles enjoyed everybody and everything that brought joy and laughter for life's simple pleasures! He and his fiancé Jeanette always loved preparing for family cookouts to include horseshoes and cornhole! These events were a treat to his family and friends whom he loved and enjoyed being around. Charles also loved to sit on his porch and watch his grandson Legend running and playing with his fiancé Jeanette!

Charles was proceeded in death by his son Allen La'Von Calloway, his parents, Mrs. Malvenia Harris Calloway and Mr. Charles Samuel Calloway, three uncles, Paul Calloway, Thomas Calloway and James Calloway, and a devoted nephew, Johnny Calloway.

He leaves fond and cherished memories to a devoted Fiancé, Ms. Jeanette Roper, two devoted sons, Mr. Tracey Motley and Mr. Antione Calloway of Greensboro, NC and stepson, Mr. Randolph McDaniel of Spotsylvania, VA. Four grandchildren, Amaya Calloway of Greensboro, NC, Ty'Niyah and Trenton Jamerson of Danville, VA, Legend McDaniel of King George, VA, and a bonus granddaughter, Na'omi Ball of Ruther Glen, VA. Three sisters, Jeanette Calloway of Axton, VA, Eva Brenda Mack of Danville, VA, and Latissa M Essex (Bobby) of Greensboro, NC. Two brothers, Gary Calloway of Greensboro, NC and Calvin Calloway (Erika) of Danville, VA. Five uncles, Ralph Harris of Salem, VA, Wayne Harris (LaVern)  and Jeremy Harris (Ida) both of Danville, VA, Curtis Harris of Blair, VA, Wesley Harris of San Diego, CA and Wayne Calloway of Halifax, VA. Bonus Nieces, Danielle, Toya, Tiffany and Lisa. Bonus Nephews, Sailor Davon Sims, Jhamik, Quan, Tevin (Kadesha) and Moses. Sister in Love, Mrs. Carolyn Day (Sgt. Day) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved and adored him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Caroline Community Center, 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
