Cassandra Ann Jeter,  53 was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Spotsylvania Regional Hospital surrounded by her family and close friends.   Cassandra, affectionately called 'Sandy' was born on October 24, 1969 to James W. King and Lourene E. Payne.

Sandy was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools and graduated in 1987.   After high school, Sandy got married and spent her life raising her children and being the best mother and grandmother she could be.

Before relocating to Spotsylvania County, Sandy worked for Caroline County School System as a school bus aide for children with special needs.   Sandy worked at 'Thrill the Hunt' in Ashland, Virginia giving worn or vintage furniture, new life.    Sandy loved upholstering furniture and was very skilled at it.   She enjoyed seeing furniture go from 'funky to fabulous' as she would say.   Sandy's expertise awarded her multiple upholstery projects for an elite company in Washington, D.C.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Anthony King and stepfather, Bernard Payne.

Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted daughter, Erica (fiancé, Christopher Martinez) of Spotsylvania, VA; one loving son, Brian (Kaitlin) of  Fredericksburg, VA; her parents, James W. King (Teresa) of King & Queen, VA and Lourene E. Payne of Milford, VA; one grandson, Jordin Thomas Anthony King of PA;  five  granddaughters, Brielle, Lindsey and Emma Jeter of Fredericksburg, VA and Heaven Morris and Janisa Alicea of PA; three brothers, James A. King (Debbie), Steven King and Michael King; special friends, Kenya Covington of PA and Al and Anita Ware of Milford, VA  and a host of loving nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc; 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia  22427 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the Ware Family Cemetery,  30374 Bethlehem Road, Champlain, Virginia 22438.
