Carolyn Theresa Harris was born on August 5, 1946 in Bullock County, Georgia to the late Lucille Bessie Harris and Eugene Henry Harris.
Carolyn, left her earthly home on September 15, 2012 and made her heavenly flight to be with the Lord.
From the union of Lucille and Eugene, Carolyn was the only daughter, she had two brothers, Gene Linwood and the late Jerri DeVaughn.
Carolyn was educated in the Philadelphia school system where she graduated with honors.
She was a member of the Poplar Street AME Zion Church in Philadelphia for many years.
Carolyn as she was known to all of her Virginia friends was called Theresa by her family.
Carolyn worked for the U.S. Government for over 25 years and she retired in 2006.
Carolyn loved learning every thing she could about the things she enjoyed and went to school for most of her hobbies, which included bowling, playing the piano and hunting. Carolyn had an antique shop and really enjoyed being a host at the night club, as well as planning and giving events. She went to school and received certificates for each of her hobbies. She wanted to be the best at what she did. She was a real people person and was really loved by her friends in Virginia and Philadelphia. She will be missed by all.
Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memories; her brother, Gene Linwood Harris, two aunts, Susie Beatty and Annie Maybyrd, Godchildren, Deborah Zettlemoyer, Lisa Parrish, Diane and Lawrence Woods, Dolores Boyd, Grand-Godchildren, Rhymeeke, Lawrence, Dishane, andJaymoune Woods, and a host of cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 26th from 12 noon - 8pm at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Va., 22427.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27th at the funeral home at 2pm.
Interment will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pa. on Friday, September 28, 2012.
