Carliece Sandra Jackson (Sandy), departed this life suddenly on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Born an unimposing, carefree spirit on April 4 ^th , 1948, to the late Joseph and Annie B. Jackson. She was raised in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and graduated in 1966, from John J. Wright School. Her work career began way back at the very popular Hot Shoppe's restaurant in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She then went on to work over 40 years with the Peoples and CVS Warehouses in Fredericksburg, Virginia, until retiring a few years ago. Her favorite hobby was gardening, whether planting seeds for veggies, setting out her tomato plants in spring time, or working skillfully in her yard nurturing her beautiful flowers, she truly loved and put her heart in all her outdoor projects. Her nieces and nephews have fond memories of growing up with her being the one at family gatherings who got things started with her signature go to dance move (The Roll'em up-Shoot'em up dance). Those who were fortunate to have had her sweet potato pies mourn this loss heavily because if you tasted her pies settling for just a slice or two wouldn't do, so you either walked away from her kitchen with one of her extra whole pies, or she made sure to get one to you as soon as she could. Lawd have mercy, what will we do?!

Besides her late parents, Sandy was also preceded in death by her eldest sister, Mrs. Evelyn McCullers of Washington D.C., and her eldest brother, Mr. Ray Jackson of Spotsylvania, Virginia. She leaves to mourn this day her husband of 31 years, Mr. Jesse Evans; a daughter, Ms. Tiffany Lair and grandson, Mr. Jalen Lair both of Phoenix, Arizona; a step-son, Mr. James Washington (Kimberly) of Colonial Beach, VA and a step-daughter, Ms. Antoinette Lewis of Ruther Glen, VA.; three sisters, Josephine and Grace Short and Jane Johnson; one brother, Gary Jackson (Thelma) all of Spotsylvania, VA; her oldest niece who she thought more of as a younger sister, Ms. Debbie Jackson of Lorton, Virginia, two sister-in laws, Ms. Louise Winfield of Baltimore, MD. and Ms. Gloria Howard of Chester, PA; lots of nieces, nephews and cousins from both sides of the family who are heartbroken over this loss and will forever deeply miss her presence. With love in our hearts today we say our goodbyes.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at C.W.Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 with a viewing one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in  Evergreen Cemetery, Wrightsville Road, Bowling Green, Virginia.`
