Betty Jeanne Waller was born on June 11, 1946 to Julia Louise Osborne and Walter Minor in Caroline County, VA. and she entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at her residence in Woodford, VA. She was the eldest of twelve children.


Betty, affectionately known as "Jean", was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. She graduated a year early from Union High School in Bowling Green, VA, and acquired further instruction through various educational courses. Betty retired from Union Bank and Trust Company after 21 years. Her positive personality and glowing smile left a lasting impression and brought joy to everyone she encountered.


Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Savior at an early age at the Beulah Baptist Church, Spotsylvania VA,; however, after expressing religious homage to Third Mount Zion Baptist Church for many years, she joined that house of worship under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Samuel Gilbert and continued as a faithful steward, until her death, under the pastoral leadership of Rev Antonio Baker, Sr. Because Third Mount Zion held a special place in her heart, she was an active participant with various ministerial organizations including serving as financial secretary for twenty-five years , ushering for 33 years, serving as Food Ministry Chairperson for many years, assisting with special assignments and giving a helping hand whenever and wherever needed. Betty loved her family, and enjoyed cooking, especially potato salad, for them during many social gatherings. Going to church, cutting grass, cleaning, and spending fun times with friends and loved ones were other activities that she thoroughly enjoyed. Betty's favorite saying was "everybody pray for everybody". Words could not express the love she had for her only child and only grandchild "Poop". Her thoughtfulness and words of encouragement will forever be a part of her legacy.


Betty was preceded in death by her parents, step mother Bertha Minor, twin sister Joyce Turner, sister Barbara Jones, and brother Dennis Osborne, brothers-in-law Willie James, Charles, Clarence, Percy, Kenneth, and Allie Waller, James Hart, sisters-in-law Shirley and Pauline Waller.


She leaves to cherish her memories husband, Edward Waller, daughter, Lisa Waller, Woodford, VA, grandson, Michael Waller, Richmond, VA, sisters Denise Sims (Emanuel ) of Richmond, VA, Faye Hicks (Ernest)of North Carolina, Vickie Coggins, and Carol White (Jamie) of Richmond VA, Barbara Parker (Odell)of Woodford, VA, Diane Coleman of Brooklyn, NY, two brothers, Harry Washington of Richmond, VA and Tommy Lee Dawson, Spotsylvania, VA , five sisters-in law, Lillie Mae Waller,of Washington, DC, Genevieve Hart,of Spotsylvania, VA, Shirley Waller,of Spotsylvania, VA, Ethel Waller,of Spotsylvania, VA, and Marie Osborne ,of Woodford, VA, brother- in- law Medford Turner,of Ladysmith, VA and one devoted brother- in- law Caroll "Mickey" Waller (Diane) of Woodford, VA, special friends Joan Washington, Bertha Mae Wright, Jacquelyn Gahagan, Brenda Woolfolk, devoted cousin Gladys Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
