Bertha Bell
Eura
Jan 2, 1947 — Apr 25, 2021
Fredericksburg
Bertha Bell Eura was born on January 02, 1947 in Caroline County, Virginia, to the late Roberta Myers. On Sunday, April 25, 2021, Bertha gained her golden crown and Angel wings at her residence in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Bertha Eura attended public school in Caroline County. In high school, she was crowned home coming queen. She was affectionately known as "Ma B" or "Aunt B" to many and was loved by everyone that met her. Bertha was a dedicated worker. Her last place of employment was at Candle Wood Suites of Fredericksburg, after which she decided to retire and enjoy her life. She was able to focus on her passions of cooking for her friends and family, watching her grandkids and enjoying her many family functions. She would not allow anyone around her to be hungry as she would make sure you were full and well fed. Her friends at the Super Value Inn where she resided loved her dearly—no one ever went hungry there. They bragged about her 80-inch TV that her "pretend boyfriend" BJ, jokingly said she told him that he could have. She was a hard-core Dallas Cowboys fan and would talk trash whether they won or lost. Nothing would make her day more than a good Washington and Dallas game on Sunday. Her passions were Rosie's Casino, sitting on the porch, and cooking for her family and many friends. She would never turn down anyone that needed help. Her daughters were her everything.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Virginia for many years until she joined World Harvest Cathedral under the leadership of Pastor Mike Latney, Sr. and Elect Lady Melissa. She was a faithful member and assisted with everything around and outside of the church that related to ministry.
She was preceded in death by her son, Hampton D. Eura, Jr.; her husband, Hampton D. Eura Sr.; great grandson, Bradley B. Robinson, Jr.; granddaughter, Toneikwa M. Eura; mother, Roberta E. Chapman; mother-in-law, Louise Monte; grandmother, Lucy Bell Myers; three brothers, Wesley Chapman, Richard Myers and Charlie Chapman; three brothers-in-law, Arthur Baber, Joseph Lorenzo Monte, and James Lucious Eura and a sister-in-law, Maxine Oliver.
She leaves cherished memories to her four daughters, Sedessa M. Eura, Vanessa Denise Eura (and longtime companion, Mel Gibson), Melissa R. (Mike Latney) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Lynette R. (Earl Street) of Greenville North Carolina; two brothers, Franklin Myers of Washington, D.C. and John Chapman of Fredericksburg Virginia; three sisters, Bernice Fortune (Larry) of Stafford, Virginia, Carolyn Day (Sgt. Billy Day) of Bowling Green Virginia; Sarah Yvonne Chapman of Burlington, North Carolina; grandchildren, Toronto Eura, Schirra Eura, Nooney (Delonte) Eura, Javonte (Frankie) Eura, Mikey Latney (Precious), Zion Latney, Kristy Eura, and Porsha Eura; her adopted granddaughter, Davionna; adopted grandson, Derrick Herndon; dearly loved nieces and nephews, Danielle, Tiffany, Tevin (Kadesha), Charnique, Philareta (Craig) and Antoine; and many other nephews and nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends who are left to cherish her beautiful memories.
