Beatrice Lee Washington, quietly slipped into eternity on Saturday, February, 13, 2016 at 5:45 a.m.at Bridgepoint Hospital in Washington, D.C. to join her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Beatrice was known to all who loved her as" Bea".

Bea was joined in matrimony to the late Alfred Sandy Washington, Sr. and was a devoted mother to her four children and a loving grandmother, great and great-great grandmother to all her off spring.

She was born the eldest of three children to the late Annie Lee. She attended public schools in Caroline County, Virginia. At an early age she decided to serve the Lord and joined Mount Tabor Baptist Church where she attended and served in whatever capacity she could faithfully. Bea had a passion for singing and serving so she was a devoted choir member in the Senior Choir and served all those who she could for many years at Mount Tabor. She remained a member of Mount Tabor throughout all of her adulthood even after moving away to Washington, D.C., she then became ill and could no longer physically attend. She worked hard and eventually retired from D.C. Government. She also worked for the Ellis family for many years. From there she retired a second time. Bea enjoyed many years in retirement and enjoyed time fellowshipping with family and friends. She was full of life and enjoyed cooking and music; she simply just enjoyed whatever made others happy and kept a smile on others faces. Bea was a great conversationalist and had a great sense of humor.

Bea was preceded in death by her dear sister Shirley Parker and her brother Moses Samuels.

Bea leaves to cherish her memory, three sons; Edward Lee, Alfred Washington, Jr., (Lisa) and Walter Washington, one daughter; Justine Washington; ten grandchildren; Shelita (Vernon),Nicole, Edward Jr., Candice, Sophia (Kevin), Branden (Katherine), Jessica, Kiana, Tierra, and Sarina, nine great-grandchildren; Anthony, Antione, Siyon, Messiah, Noah, Khalilah, Khalil and Kamille; one great-great grandchild; Carmen; one aunt Bessie Nelson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one uncle, James (Sam) Carter (Marissa) of Hyattsville, Maryland; one niece, Kimberly Parker-Edwards (Anthony) of Washington, D.C.; one adopted daughter, Michelle Hicks of Baltimore, Maryland; one devoted cousin/sister, Barbara Taylor (Marion) of Silver Spring, Maryland; four special cousins, Lottie Johnson, James (Pete) Carter, Vanessa Wright and Gertie Johnson along with a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 20 at Mount Tabor Baptist Church 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour before the service. Rev. Antonio O. Clinkscales will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
