Barbara Ann Wright, 86, of Caroline County, Virginia, peacefully entered eternal rest on October 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Caroline County, Virginia on September 5, 1939, to the late Leila Bates and James Woolfolk. Barbara lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and service.

Barbara accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She served in the Missionary Ministry, Flower Club and was a founding member of the Spiritualettes, a group that uplifted the congregation through music and fellowship. Her faith shined brightly through her service, her songs, and her love for others.

Barbara was educated in the Caroline County Public School System and was a proud 1959 graduate of Union High School — Home of the Pointers. Barbara was a talented and spirited athlete, shining as a basketball and softball player, as well as a cheerleader, where her energy and enthusiasm inspired everyone around her.

Barbara's professional journey reflected her strong work ethic, intelligence, and dedication to helping others. Soon after graduation she moved to Washington D.C. and worked at Martinez Hair Salon as shampoo girl. City life was not for her! Upon her return to Caroline, she began working as a Teacher's Aide for Mrs. Pauline Boxley at Madison Elementary School, where she supported students with patience, care, and encouragement.  Next, she continued building her career as an administrative assistant with the Farmer's Home Administration, Microfilm Operator at Best Products, and lastly in administrative roles at Fort A.P. Hill. No matter where she worked, Barbara was known for her professionalism, kind spirit, and commitment to excellence in everything she did.

At Union High, she met her high school sweetheart and husband of 65 years, Raymond Wright Sr. Together they built a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of cherished memories. From their union came four children, Cachetta, Raymond Jr., Felicia, and Andre, all of whom carry her strength, grace, and love within them.

Beyond her faith and service, Barbara was known for her quick wit and sense of humor that could light up any room. She had a way of making people laugh even on the hardest days, and her joyful spirit reminded everyone not to take life too seriously. Whether it was a funny story, a playful joke, or a simple one-liner, she had a gift for bringing smiles to those around her.  Barbara's gentle spirit, kind heart, laughter, and unwavering faith left an imprint on all who knew her. She was a woman of grace — known for her warm smile, her comforting meals, and her ability to make everyone feel at home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leila and James Woolfolk, and her son, Wendell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Raymond, her children, Cachetta Derricott (Randy Sr.), Parkland, FL; Raymond Wright Jr. (Pam), Ashland, VA; Felicia Jordan (Rudy), Fort Washington, MD; and Andre Wright (Monica), Richmond, VA. Her grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as "Grandma" Randy Derricott Jr., Chardona Wright-Blake, Kiersten Wright, Amaya Jordan, and Andre X. Wright, who brought her endless joy and laughter. Two brothers, James Woolfolk (Pauline) of Upper Marlboro, MD; Warren "Scott" Woolfolk (Doris) of Woodford, VA; one sister-in-law, Elsie Childs of Ruther Glen, VA; devoted cousins, Helen Johnson and Pearl Minor and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She loved her family deeply and made sure each of them knew they were her pride and joy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at St John Baptist Church, 17080 South River Rd, Woodford, Virginia 22580 with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
