Annie Maude Davis (Meme), a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt departed this life on May 27, 2019 while on vacation in Williamsburg, VA.

Annie was born August 15, 1928 in Milford, VA to the late Oliver and Gertrude Latney, the first of seven children. She graduated from Union High School and attended Virginia Union University.

She joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, VA at a very early age and continued to be a faithful servant until her passing. During her membership she served as President of the Usher Board, Deaconess, Bible School teacher, Sunday School teacher, Missionary, on the Nursing Unit, and a member of the Mattaponi Association.

Annie was employed by New York Toy Factory, Dart Drug Corporation, and Caroline County school system as a substitute teacher for over 30 years until her retirement.

On October 6, 1949 Annie was joined in holy matrimony to the late Benjamin J. Davis. In this union 6 girls were raised. She was preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and Oliver Latney, Sr.; one sister Clara and three brothers James, Weldon and Clinton. She is survived by her loving daughters Barbara (Richard) Nelson, Atlanta, GA; Gelie Kinard Spotsylvania, VA; Glenda (Frederick Darrell) Banks, Atlanta, GA; Benata (Anthony) Jackson, Bowling Green, VA; Lisa (Curtis) Jackson, Fayetteville, NC and Tatyana (Andre) Woolfolk, Ruther Glen, VA; 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren; one brother, Oliver (Mary Ann) Latney, Jr., Witchita, KS; one sister Gertrude Peters, Stafford, VA; two sisters-in-law Virginia Latney and Shirley Latney, Bowling Green, VA; a host of nieces and nephews and an honorary daughter Yvonne (Robert) Jackson, Newport News, VA.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019  at Shiloh Baptist Church , 127 South Main Street, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 .

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Shiloh Baptist Church. with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 03, 2019 at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia 22172
