On June 02, 2026, God in his infinite wisdom, chose to call Anne May Davis Lindsey from her labor to reward.

Anne, one of six children born to the late Thomas W. Davis, Sr. and Flossie Childs Davis was born on June 28, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA. She moved to Caroline County at an early age with her family.

At an early age, Anne accepted Christ and was baptized into the membership of the St. James Baptist Church of Milford, Va. She was an active church member, serving as an assistant financial secretary, choir member, usher and vacation Bible school teacher.

She attended schools in the Caroline County Public School System and graduated from Union High in 1965.

In February 1970, Anne married James E. Lindsey. Their union was blessed with three children.

In Anne's early adult years, she was employed by Keller Industries in Milford, VA. After taking time off to raise her children, she re-entered the workforce and was employed by the Caroline County Public School System at Caroline Middle School. She remained employed there and retired in June 2015 after 28 years of service.

Anne was preceded in death by her sisters; Cassandra Marie Brown, Marjorie Barker, Carol Smith-McCall, Zelda Booker, and her half-brother; Wayne Davis.

She leaves cherished memories to her husband; James Lindsey; one daughter, Antoinette DeShea Cotman (Robert); two sons, Derrick and Marcus Lindsey; one granddaughter, Briana Baugham; two grandsons, D'Andre Henderson and Jayden Tolson; great granddaughter, Braelyn Brown; a devoted brother, Thomas W. Davis, Jr. (Mary); a half-sister, Myra Pollard, three brothers in law; Russell Lindsey (Reacie), Richard Lindsey (Gearldine), and Rev. Donald Lindsey; two sisters in law; Thelma Neal (William) and Ethel Easley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

For us, she was steadfast in her love, caring and commitment, the wind beneath our wings. For this, she will always be with us.

I AM FREE

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play.  Tasks undone

must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day.

If parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.  A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss

Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish for you, the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savoured much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wants me now, he set me free.

A Viewing will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at the St. James Baptist Church located  at 19514 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia, 22514 .

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Caroline Middle School located at 13325 Devils Three Jump Road, Milford, Virginia, 22514, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday June 22, 2026 in the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia 22172. The Family will assemble in Lane B at the  National Cemetery.
