Obituary

Alice "Vernice" McMillan, the loving daughter of the late Arlene Johnson Hines and Thomas E. Greene was born on January 9,1954 in Caroline County, Virginia. She resided in Spotsylvania, Virginia with her devoted companion, Jeffrey Jones. On August 1, 2018, Vernice peacefully entered  into eternal rest with family by her side after her courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Vernice was educated in the Caroline County Public Schools. She began her career in the Food Service Industry as a teenager. She retired as a Chief Cook from Sodexo in Quantico, Virginia after 30 years of service. She joined the church at an early age and rededicated her life to her Lord and Savior as an adult. Vernice was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia.

Vernice was adored by all.  She was always caring for others. She was a dedicated caregiver for her grandmother and mother . Vernice enjoyed cooking, working in her flower garden and spending time with her family. She was famous for her macaroni and cheese and banana pudding. She spoiled all her loved ones with sweet treats on every special occasion. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved music and God's word. She became an avid fan of the Redskins later in life.  Best of all, she had a great sense of humor that would put a smile on your face. All will surely miss her.
