Alfred Gregory Carter, Sr. 65 of Washington, D.C. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Holy Cross Hospital, in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Alfred was born to the late Martha Lou Thompson and Robert Miller on February 11, 1950 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. God called Alfred home after a long illness. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. Caroline County school system was where he received his education. He graduated from Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia. He later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and became employed with Philadelphia Electric Company for 25 years. After retiring from the electric company he later moved to Washington, D.C. where he became employed with a subcontractor for the Environmental Protection Agency until his illness forced him to retire.

Alfred enjoyed watching sports. his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching the old western television shows.

Alfred leaves to cherish is memory, one son, Alfred Gregory Carter, Jr.,one grandson, Nasir Carter; three sisters; Debbie Sharpe, Caroline Handy and Shelia Thompson; six brothers; William Thompson, Dwayne Thompson, Robert Handy, Steven Handy, Michael Miller and Gary Miller; one aunt, Lottie F. Johnson; a devoted cousin/brother Warren R. Johnson; two sister-in-laws; Marian Goodall and Frances Jones; two brothers-in-law; James and Kenny Baylor; a host of nieces, nephews
and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour before the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
