Obituary

Alfonzo Myers, 51, of Bowling Green, Virginia entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 20, 1965 to Lucille Bates-Myers and Charles Gray.

Alfonzo gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Virginia. He later joined Mount Hope Baptist Church where he became an usher. He completed his education in Caroline County Public School System, graduating from Caroline High School in 1984. He joined the National Guard in 1989, where he served for 8 years.

Alfonzo worked at Simmons Beauty Rest for 21 years as a supervisor and Colonial Webb for the past 14 years where he was a supervisor.

Alfonzo was preceded in death by his brother, William Myers; his sister, Amy D. Wright; brother-in-law,Tyrone Bundy; sister-in-law, Barbara L. Todd and brother-in-law, Mark L Holmes.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Brenda G. Myers; sons, Justin A. Myers, Akeem Lee-Myers both of Virginia, Domoneek R. Holmes (Lacrecia) of South Carolina; daughters, Jazmen A. Smith of Virginia, LeDeisha M. Chamberlain (Michael) of South Carolina and Damona Holmes of Virginia; ten grandchildren; three sisters, Louella Childs (Author), Lisa Bundy, Alice Gillis (Willie) all of Virginia; brothers, James Myers and Lionel Myers (Chantel) both of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Lucy Holmes of South Carolina, Lorraine Holmes of Wisconsin, Louise Robinson (Sugar Ray) of South Carolina, Ellen B. Minor (James)and Syreeta Perkins (John) both of Virginia; brother-in-law, James Holmes (Sally) of Rhode Island; two god children, Alesha Gillis from Virginia and Cory R. Stubbs (Japan) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at C. W. Edwards Funeral Home, 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 and one hour before the service at the church.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 12, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 127 S. Main Street, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427 with Dr. Arnett A. Rogiers delivering the eulogy. Burial will be private.
