Agnes Virginia Hutchinson Stovall, the 3rd oldest of 9 children, was born February 4, 1916 in King and Queen County, Virginia to the late Ethel Robinson Hutchinson and Sammy L. Hutchinson. She attended Lawson Elementary School, and when her parents moved to Caroline County, she attended File public School.

She joined the Mount Tabor Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend R. N. Lawson. To pursue better job opportunities, she left Caroline County to join other members of her family living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she became a watch care member of the Church of God and Christ.

On April 30, 1955, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Hamilton D. Stovall. To this union, a lovely daughter Arcelia, was born. Several times during the year, Virginia, Virginia came home to fellowship with her church family at Mount Tabor. After the passing of her husband, with the Lord's help, she continued to raise her twelve-year old daughter. She held various positions as a domestic worker and Nurse's Aid for the elderly to make ends meet. Always a hard worker, Virginia knew she had the Lord to depend on.

In 2000, she returned to Bowling Green, Virginia, to live with her sister Kate and her husband Brother Percy Samuels and reunited with Mount Tabor, her home church. Sister Stovall was a the oldest mother of the church. She had a meek, quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. Her demeanor allowed God to work, His will through her. She was a firm believer in the power of prayer and her life was a living testimony to what God can do. Sister Stovall was an active member of the Missionary Ministry and always let her light shine for God. Whenever the doors of the church was opened, she was there fellowshipping and supporting the church family that she so dearly loved. Virginia enjoyed cooking and crocheting, but most of all, she loves praising the Lord.

She leaves cherished and loving memories to her daughter; Arcelia Stovall of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her loving and devoted baby sister, Deaconess Kate Samuels; devoted friends Susan and Beth Collins of Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. 16476 Richmond Turnpike, Bowling Green, Virginia 22427

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 11:00 a.m. at Mount Tabor Baptist Church 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, Virginia 22514 with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Reverend Antonio Clinkscales will be delivering the eulogy.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
