Addie Delores Cox, affectionately known as "Ceaball" or "Aunt Ceaball" to most, entered into eternal rest on Saturday January 28, 2023, at her residence. Addie was born to the late Ernest E. Baylor Sr. and Molly L. Baylor Jenkins. She joined Bethel Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Warfield. She attended Caroline County Public Schools and shortly after school, Addie moved to Ardmore, Pennsylvania where she worked as a domestic engineer for Mr. and Mrs. John Merriam and Dr. Gotfelt.
Addie was married to the late Robert E. Harper and to this union, one son was born. In September 1969, Addie married Allie Cox and this union lasted for fifty-three years. She loved gardening and cooking for her family. If the car was moving, best believe "Polly" was riding.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James A. Baylor, Eugie L. Baylor and Kenneth W. Baylor, two sisters Mildred A. Totten and Betty B. Johnson, one sister- in- law Victoria Baylor, One brother- in- law Marion Person, one grandson Jamal Harper, one granddaughter, Rushunda Harper.
Addie leaves cherished memories to her loving husband Allie Cox of Bowling Green, Virginia; one son, Donald Harper (Evelyn) of Waco, Texas; one step-son, William "Billy" Cox (Bridgett) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Ernest E. Baylor, Jr. (Shirley), Gene A. Baylor and William B. Jenkins Jr. (Myra), all of Bowling Green, Virginia; three sisters, Frances Samuel (John) of Washington D.C., Virginia Person of Philadelphia and Dorothy Collins of Bowling Green; two sisters- in- law, Gwendolyn Baylor of Ardmore, Pennsylvania and Priscilla Baylor of Temple Hills, Maryland; one uncle, Nathaniel Foster of Sacramento, California; five devoted nieces, Beverly Miles, Donna L. Wilson, Ellen N. Miles-Simms, Jasmine A. Thomas-Miles, and AshLee A. Simms; one devoted nephew, Danny Kidd and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, step- grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and a devoted friend, Lorriane Johnson of Ardmore, Pennsylvania
A public visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home.
A Private Celebration of Life Service for the family only will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023 at the funeral home.
Mask or face covering will be required for entrance into the funeral home for visitation and celebration of life service.
